The links below are to web pages that IÕve created as IÕve investigated and supported different areas of elementary school math education.

- Study
recommendations for
*Math Olympiad Contest Problems Volume 2.*Study guide and practice schedule to accompany the MOEMS problem book.

- CGI (Cognitive Guided Instruction): The most exciting and insightful approach to teaching elementary school mathematics. This begins where Piaget left off. This is individualized math learning, with the focus on each childÕs thinking rather than what is next in the curriculum.
- Math Explorations to Support Common Core ...going beyond the numbers to mathematical thinking! This is a collection of the lessons which I use in the Math Olympiad program at Lin Howe Elementary School. These have been posted at the request of several teachers with whom I've had the privilege to work.
- Teaching Problem Solving: Given a math story problem where you have no idea where to begin, what do you do? Figuring out what to do is mathematical problem solving. These lessons are designed to help teachers teach mathematical problem solving.
- Pre-school Math:
A workshop for parents focusing on math concepts and
activities to do at home with three and four year old
preschoolers.

- An Introduction to
Singapore Math: A
compilation of my notes, references and resources regarding
this curriculum. This
investigation was prompted by a 2008 LA Times article
regarding the progress made in mathematics at Ramona
Elementary School in downtown LA.
- Math Enrichment at Lin Howe is posted for fun, historical completeness (and to remind me that this really happened): this was my first year after retirement from UCLA.
- The Annual Los Angeles County-wide 4th and 5th Math
Olympiad
Tournament draws 180 "Mathletes" on five-person teams,
for a day of individual and team events. Most of the
attending schools are now repeats, indicating just how
important this academically challenging event has become.
